Petition against the new procedures of the Interior Ministry concerning family reunification

The Interior Ministry introduced a new procedure for family reunification applications some time ago. This includes that applicants must appeal a negative decision within one year after the decision is taken. At least ten applicants approached JCSER this year as they had found their applications deleted without having received a decision to their application or notification concerning the change in policy. Besides individual cases, two general letters concerning this issue were sent to the legal department of the Interior Ministry in May and October this year. However, no response it received yet from the Interior Ministry.

JCSER requests the cancellation of this new procedure or demands from the Interior Ministry that it makes sure letters are received by applicants. JCSER wants the Interior Ministry to use just and transparent procedures towards applicants.

JCSER will take further steps soon.
