21 May 2002 - This morning the Jerusalem Municipality demolished three more homes in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina. 9 May 2002 - As the Jewish part of Jerusalem celebrates the 'unification' of the city 35 years ago, there is little to celebrate for the Palestinian Jerusalemites. Over these 35 years, Israeli and Municipal authorities implemented policies and practices to ensure control, territorial integrity and a Jewish demographic majority by dominating, segregating and discriminating against the Palestinian inhabitants. The 'unification' had serious consequences on several aspects of the life of Palestinian inhabitants of the city as more and more rights are taken from them. In many aspects the city remains divided between East and West.

6 May 2002 - Jerusalem Municipality Continues its Home Demolition Policy in East Jerusalem. Early morning Monday, 6 May 2002, the Jerusalem Municipality demolished a house under construction (100 square meters) and a 12-square-meter room in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. 21 homes have been demolished in East Jerusalem since the beginning of this year.

5 May 2002 - JCSER was able to reveal an error of the Municipality in the collection of its Arnona, municipal taxes. A Palestinian resident of Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood in East Jerusalem was charged an unjust high amount of the Arnona tax on a real estate based on a wrong classification. JCSER calls on the residents of Wadi Al-Joz to check their tax payments of the last years and request refunds of the money that is possibly illegally collected from them.

2 May 2002 - Reports on planned or actual attacks and harassment against Palestinians in Jerusalem are on the increase. In recent months, several Jewish groups have taken responsibility for terror attacks, while other cases are reported on harrassment of Palestinians in Jerusalem only because of the fact that they are Palestinian. It can be assumed that these reports are only the top of the iceberg.
