The Jerusalem Center for Social & Economic Rights (JCSER) provides legal assistance to Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem within the following areas:

  • Residency rights:
    • ID Card confiscation
    • Family unification
    • Child registration

  • Social security rights, including social insurance:
    • Access to health services
    • Provision of social benefits and allowances in relation to income assurance, income completion, unemployment, work injuries, children, widows, elderly, health insurance, alimony, disability, maternity

  • Municipal services & municipality (Arnona) tax system:
    • Business tax / Property tax
    • Provision of municipal services

  • Building restrictions and illegal building:
    • Obtaining building permits
    • Consequences of illegal building like house demolitions

  • Confiscation of property


  • Closures and checkpoints


  • Interaction with police authorities:
    • Arrests and intimidation

  • Cases related to other Israeli violations in Jerusalem


OFFICE HOURS

JCSER is opened daily from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday to Thursday. To be sure to get access to a lawyer and/or to bring the necessary documents, clients may contact JCSER in advance.
